I’m the first point of contact at Haas & Zaltz, LLP. This means that when you call in, I’m usually the first one you’ll meet. I welcome your questions, then ask mine, and convey our client process, tailored to your specific needs.
I’m not a lawyer (although I play one on TV) (my classic response when asked if I’m a lawyer); however, from my vantage point, I witness many valuable elements regarding the client / lawyer relationship.
For example, when people call in, they are often in a heightened state of emotion. Planning for the inevitable is understandably a difficult topic yet one factor penetrates their fears every time:
Knowledge.
But not just any knowledge. I’m not referring to your own personal consultation with the Google gods. Imagine what it’s like when people call in convinced that they have more knowledge than our lawyers and paralegals, or when they compare our practice of 35+ years in the industry to instant online services. Indeed, some of our cases involve untangling the untold damage from such choices.
I’m referring to the type of knowledge that keeps things real. It’s the knowledge that will tell you exactly what needs to be done to protect your assets, no matter how much or how little you have. It’s the knowledge of an estate plan that leaves a legacy for your future generations and conveys to them that you walked through any fears; that their future was far more important to you than the discomfort of truth and reality.
So don’t be afraid. Walk in the shoes of hundreds of our other clients who bravely traveled the journey on which you are about to embark. And know that we will be with you – and your future generations – every step of the way.
